Historically, Las Vegas has been the ultimate destination for business and social events since the late 1950s. Providing dynamic and exciting event experiences and having one of the largest convention facilities globally, Las Vegas is the largest business and social convention centre in the U.S.

In 2008, nearly 22,500 business events and conventions, planned and executed by experienced professionals, and attended by nearly 5.9 attendees, were held in Las Vegas, increasing the occupancy rates by 86 percent. In spite of a small decline from 2007 both in convention attendance by 5 percent and in conventions and meetings held by 5.8 percent, Vegas showed record numbers in 2008 driving prospective industries into success.

1. Post updates about your event website/online registration
When you set up a Twitter account for your event, make sure to enter your event website into the URL section. Your website will be visible on your profile at all times. Keep your followers updated about changes, for example when you have added your event agenda to your website, or when the dates and times of tasks are due. Include relevant links (event website or online registration page) every time, so your followers can easily read and find such information

2. Offer special deals
A good way to create noise and buzz about your event

3. Ask for feedback and ideas from followers
Delegates appreciate knowing they have contributed to an event so they get the most benefit from paying to attend. Twitter is a great way to do this. You can also poll for answers to get feedback to help shape content

Cosmetic surgery is becoming increasingly popular in this day and age. This has created a significant influx of cosmetic surgeons, making it ever more important to engage in strategic cosmetic surgery marketing. Just like any other type of trade or profession, the cosmetic surgery industry is rather competitive. This means that even the greatest cosmetic surgeons could remain unsuccessful unless they understand how to market their practice.

There is one glaring issue that arises when you look at the importance of marketing. Surgeons spend years and years in training for their craft. This involves an intensive study of the sciences, followed by studying medicine, followed still by a residency where they learn their specialty. Cosmetic surgeons oftentimes spend as long as 12 years becoming trained in their area of expertise. However, nowhere in this training are surgeons trained on the ins and outs of marketing. This means that while a surgeon may be an expert in cosmetic surgery, he or she may not be an expert in cosmetic surgery marketing.

There’s a new set of rules for connecting your brand to your employees, caregivers, communities and patients. And it requires you to let go of what you think you know. Continuing to try to persuade audiences about the superiority of your organization through traditional campaigning (in the absence of other efforts), with the use of rational information and comparative data, is just not that important to those you’re trying to connect with.

The future of healthcare marketing is not about saying things to caregivers, communities and patients. It is about saying and doing things with them. It is about Attraction Marketing, compelling audiences to become socially involved with your brand, while letting you (the healthcare marketer) actually spread your commercial message more effectively.

Twitter has emerged as one of the most powerful social networking tools. Twitter is the home for many hip hop artists around the word. Even though Twitter is fairly new, there are already hip hop artists such as Sean ‘diddy’ Combs who had success with marketing on twitter. However, there as also been quite a few people who have made some mistakes when it comes to branding themselves on twitter.

I have compiled a list of the 10 most frequent mistakes hip hop artists make while using twitter:

  1. Adding too many people at one time. So you want to brand yourself, yet you’ve got 50 people following you, while you’re following 2,001? How does that really portray you? If not only makes you look extremely desperate but it also shows that you’re not on twitter to build relationships with people, only to gain a vast amount of followers in order to spam them with your links. Take it slow, let the follows come naturally.
