This is what I do to build my email list. First thing I like to do is to go over to Google and type in Google insight. From here, I would type in what I am interested in or passionate about, and this should give you some ideas you can use for your topic to build your list around.
I like to start by creating a series of emails that I will be sending out for the first month, which are about 15 emails. I will send some extras, to have a more of a relationship with my subscribers. I like to email every other day for the next 30 days. I will also create 5 to 10 articles for posting to several article advertisers. This is important for starting a buzz to drive traffic to your blog or website right away. You want to start right from the beginning to create traffic.
Next, I like to prepare a power point video for my giveaway so they know what to expect, weather it’s an e-book or a product. I like to do this, so they can have a better understanding of what they will be receiving when subscribe, and it’s a way for the subscriber to get to know who you are.
Now we can get started and put things into place. You want to go over to Aweber or icontact. and get a subscription for an auto responder. Once you’re signed up, create a campaign, then start to load all your emails and set the times to send in the sequence you desire. I recommended every other day as mentioned earlier.
Next you want to create your opt-in form from your auto responder. You only need name and email, and I would do in that order. It depends on your campaign, you may add other fields if desired. Next it depends where this opt-in form is going to reside, if it is your blog you can write a heading and a few bullet points if you want, depending on your space, or if you are putting this onto a squeeze page you will have much more info, like a heading, sub heading, bullet points and then the opt-in form. There are many free software programs that you can make your squeeze pages with. i.e. squeeze-page-pro You will also need create a thank you page with information regarding what to look for and when to expect your requested information for your subscribers.
Once you’ve completed your squeeze page, it’s time to get a domain name and some hosting and upload your pages to your server. There are many hosting services to choose from, but I recommend Host Gator for your hosting service, and Go Daddy for your domain, make sure your topic and domain name are as relevant as you can. Next you are now ready drive traffic to your new squeeze page.
