As a business owner, you probably give out business cards to anyone interested in your field. It is a way to advertise your brick and mortar business to particularly interested patrons. Another way to expand and grow your business is to transfer your business online. To draw more business as a business owner, you can set up a website. A website is another marketing tool designed to increase traffic within your particular specialty area of expertise.

Marketing within your field can vary from advertising in your local periodicals to banners at your local baseball field. But as a marketing developer, you must consider the costs involved in all advertising. A monthly or yearly marketing goal must be within your pre-set boundaries. To expand your boundaries may expand your sales. A website can be set up and designed within your marketing goals. How much you spend on a website depends on how much you want to spend. Some people have fancy graphics. That may add to your site but is not necessary to start off. Some people pay a web designer to set up their web site or you could do it yourself to cut costs.

One of the main reasons to set up a website is to become known as an expert in your field. By becoming an expert, your business and your name get known around the world. The more you get known, the more visible you become. By raising your visibility, you will increase traffic to your business. Increase traffic means increase sales. That’s the bottom line for all business owners.

You may be loosing business and don’t even know it. I would like you for to check out my website at http://www.startyourbrickandmortaronline.com It will show you how to set up a website in a short amount of time to help you achieve your marketing goals.

As a construction professional I am constantly trading contractor business cards with my peers. It’s a tradition that not only fosters relationships and goodwill but also helps to increase the business load for everyone involved. I’ve seen some cards that were so bad as to be laughable, some that were so outstanding that they made me jealous, and many that were somewhere in the middle. This experience has led me to make some general conclusions about business cards in the home improvement industry.

Let me start with the assertion that perception is reality. This term is tossed around a lot in marketing circles, and for good reason. When you engage the attention of a homeowner and potential client they will immediately begin to analyze you and your business to see if you’d be a good match. Therefore, the first cues that you offer them are extremely important because they begin to shape a “reality” in their mind. If the first thing you hand them is your business card and it looks unprofessional then you’re already setting the stage for them to perceive that your whole business is unprofessional, even though the reality might be that your trade skills are excellent. Remember that people will being to make assumptions about you from the very beginning, so you need to get it right.

This means that you should eschew that idea of making contractor business cards on your home computer. Instead, use an online professional to design and print clean and concise cards for you. I guarantee that it will go miles in making you and your company look more professional to prospective customers. It’s an easy hurdle to jump if only you are willing to part ways with creative control and just a little bit of money.

If you can’t afford to have your cards professionally designed then allow me to offer a few tips. I recommend a basic, white background that has your firm’s logo printed on one half of the face. The other half should have your contact information, your credentials, your awards, your trade license number, and your insurance information. Make it informative without going so far as to make it a novel. If you were thinking about sticking a goofy picture or cartoon on it then take my advice and trash this idea. Remember, you want to look like you have your act together, not like you work out of your garage and your five year-old designed your business cards for you.

In general, this all amounts to using some common sense in order to move your business forward. Put yourself in the shoes of a homeowner and honestly assess your marketing materials. If you come to the conclusion that they need an overhaul then just do it. It may be expensive but the bigger expense would be to lose countless jobs down the road because your business cards look so awful.

Consumers are no longer the only target for most businesses nowadays. These firms need to target other businesses in order to gain more business transactions. As such, telemarketing companies are being sought out in order for them to handle these business’ sales campaigns.

Consumers are not the only important asset for most businesses. Companies do not only target individuals for their products and services but also other firms as well. Affiliating themselves with another company lets them get the most out of their marketing strategies. In addition, businesses that have a lot of connections in the business world are able to acquire the most number of customers.

In recent years, business to business transactions are now being made popular by firms that want the highest possibility of business success. Today’s business era no longer tries to corner the consumer market but also the business aspect of it as well.

Millions of companies worldwide try to employ different marketing strategies in hopes of acquiring a long-term business relationship with other firms. Such marketing strategies that are being used by these businesses include direct mail programs, e-mail advertising campaigns, and the most popular nowadays, telemarketing.

With business to business or B2B telemarketing, firms are able to formulate a direct mode of contact towards their prospects. This is very beneficial to those who wants to get the name of their company directly to those other firms that may have the best interests in formulating a business relationship.

The reason why B2B telemarketing has been gaining popularity over the years is because of its ability to directly and effectively contact businesses that may have the highest interest in forming a long-term business relationship with the business. Other marketing strategies do not have this advantage and at times take a very long time to garner possible clients. Take for example direct mail marketing; it is indeed a very cost effective mode of marketing one’s products and services, however it might take multiple direct mails to one prospect just to pique his or her interest. This is very disadvantageous to businesses who value their time in gathering.

The good thing about B2B telemarketing is it can be outsourced. Outsourcing the telemarketing campaign has been proven to be very advantageous to businesses who may not have the right amount of resources yet to maintain the program. With cold calling representatives to help them in completing the campaign, businesses are able to add up to their resources instead of them spending a whole lot of it.

Cold calling representatives are always there to give their services to businesses who are in need of it. These call center agents are all highly skilled experts that are monitored and trained constantly of their performance. If there is even a slight inkling of an agent’s performance dwindling, their superiors immediately take into action as to what they can do to prevent such a thing to happen again. Seeing this, businesses are able to assure themselves that their outsourced telemarketing campaign is going to run smoothly.

Outsourcing towards call center representatives for a business-to-business telemarketing campaign has been seen as very cost effective method for marketing a business’ products and services. It is a very great investment that any business owner should take advantage of for the benefit of their firm. These outsourced sales representatives provide the business with the highest chances of giving them the highest quality business deals and partnerships that no other marketing strategy can supply.

Other benefits for outsourced telemarketing services include:
• Acquisition of an instant level of expertise
• Economize on the business’ time
• Balancing out work and leisure time for the firm
• Provides effective script handling when talking to prospects

Outsourced B2B telemarketing has already made its way into the hearts and minds of business owners. The main reason is because call center agents have already brought these businesses to their goals and ultimately to their success stories.

Last week I asked for the order from John, one of my prospective customers. I had sent him a working module from a sales simulation training program to evaluate. He listened to the audio, looked at the workbook and loved it. And, didn’t buy. Why? Because of timing. Because his boss, rightfully, had found a part of his business that could be fixed and drop money right to the bottom-line. Not top line as in revenue increase, but bottom-line, as in expense reduction. So he chose to use his only limited resource, time, to fix the hemorrhage of cash.

John asked me to visit with him in 90 days by which time he thought his boss would see increase in top-line revenue as a high priority and one he could fix with my wonderful sales simulation training program.

Now for the good news. He gave me a great referral. What’s that you say, how could you get a referral from someone who didn’t do business with you? I constantly ask for and get referrals from prospective customers who can’t or won’t do business with me. How do I do that? I start by taking notes during the rapport building process.

While I am waiting to speak to them I will have found out, usually from the gatekeeper and sometimes from the prospective customer themselves, that they are going on a fishing, hunting or golf trip. Or, I will find out that they are late for a rotary meeting, or a board meeting of a non-profit or have to teach a bible study class.

I write this down. After I ask for the order, I say.

“Joe, Thanks so much for the opportunity to earn your business, (I say this whether I make the sale or not.)

Here’s the ask:

“Now, before I let you go. You were excited by the evaluation copy. Who do you know from your golf group, your local rotary or in your church group that could benefit from the same program?”

Then I pause and wait for a few seconds to give Joe time to answer.

If he gives me a name, I ask for a number and ask if I can use him as a referral. Then I ask for another one like this.

“Thanks Joe, I appreciate the referral. Now, I know you are busy and I still want to ask. What other sales managers in your organization, folks from your local chamber, or places that your former co-managers have gone to, could benefit from this program?”

And I pause and wait and will usually get another one. And, then I ask again. What don’t I ask? I don’t ask, “Can you think of anyone who can use this program?”

Why? Because it is a general question and the universe is too big. Think about when you walk in to a restaurant and the server drops a 10 page menu on the table and walks away. What do you do? You look through it, get confused by too many choices and shut down. Then you ask the server, “What’s good here?”

If the restaurant knows its business they have offered you, at most, three specials. Good sales organizations know that lots of choices don’t lead to more sales, but less.

Action items:

1. Take notes during the rapport building process with your potential client.

2. Ask them for a referral whether they buy from you or not.

3. Ask them to think about specific groups of people who could use your services. Life fellow chamber members or their golf buddies or…?

When sales start to drop many business owners tragically cut their marketing budget. Instead of making their marketing a math equation (i.e. spend $100 to get a $700 sale) they look at it as an expense. All they can see is a big bill being spent each month. Many people delay firing people who aren’t putting in the hours in favor of cutting their investment on marketing…a big mistake.

It would be nice to say that you shouldn’t cut the marketing budget, but sometimes when the old marketing isn’t working you have to cut it in favor of something better. Whether you are the business owner or you are the sales professional trying to help get the company back on track, getting maximum results out of each lead is essential. Before I share with you HOW to increase your conversion, consider the following methods to AVOID:

Answering more questions
Being more helpful
Hard selling
The more questions you answer and the more helpful you become the less you will sell. When you get stuck being interviewed by a prospect you might as well hang up the phone because they won’t be buying from you. Even worse you might try to combat their inquisitive nature by trying to “sell” them on the features and benefits of your product or service!

To get more out of every call (especially when your lead count is falling) I invite you to consider the following sales script methods.

Stop the Prospect from Asking Questions – Whether you are responding to leads or picking up the phone from a customer request stopping them from asking questions is essential. Most prospects have the same type of question (i.e. what is the price?). Stop them from asking by using a stop statement and gain control of the conversation.

Ask Interest Piquing Questions – Asking questions strictly related to your product comes off as a veiled sales attempt. Dig deeper with your prospects about their goals and interests and you will quickly build rapport that leads to a sale. For example if you were selling musical instruments you could ask questions like: Do you play any other instruments? How long have you been playing? Have you just started looking for “X” type of instrument?

Make It Easy for them to Take the Next Step – Far too often people get a prospect excited and then fail to make it easy enough for them to take the next step. While it would be great if EVERY prospect asked “what’s the next step?” it doesn’t always happen. Make it easy on the prospect to meet with you or make a purchase on the phone. When you are booking appointments, don’t ask them when they are available, give them two times. For example you could ask “Would a meeting at Tuesday at 5pm work better or maybe Saturday at 10am?”
When you can stop a prospect from asking questions, dig deeper with interest piquing questions, and make it easy for them to take the next step you will be converting prospects into clients daily.

If you are marketing on the behalf of your business or company, it is important that you are professional, confident and ready to be successful. Great direct marketing strategies can go a long way in bringing success to your business. You will be interacting with existing and potential clients on a regular basis so it is important that you are not only able to talk to them, but listen just as well. When you are able to connect with your clients rather than simply talk to them, you will be much more able to identify any problems that may arise and be better able to handle them.

Are you taking notes? If this is not a factor in your direct marketing strategies, you may want to consider making it one. By taking notes of the key ideas, you will be much better able to communicate with your clients and ensure that you are delivering the best information to them in regards to your business.

What about your approach? Establishing an effective approach with your clients can go far in bringing success to your company or business. Direct marketing strategies can be any number of things. Whether you use the internet, billboards, phones or face-to-face communication, never rely on one single method to reach people. Take advantage of the many outlets available to you and find the ways that work best for you when it comes to attracting clients. You may have to test a few different methods before you find what works best but don’t give up, success is possible if you remained determined.

I was talking recently to my friend’s seventeen year old son about his future, girls, and stuff like that. It was beautiful to see all the confidence and swagger that only a seventeen year old, with his first job, his own money, and some summer free time can have. It is a time in your life when you can be so definite in your opinions and beliefs. In a ten minute stretch, he must have told me four things that he would “never do” in his life. So strong were his positions that he would consider it a personal failure to backtrack from these points.

Remember when you were like that?

Yesterday I did my latest in all of my personal “nevers”. I took my father, who has lived with us for nine years, to a Nursing Home. It is there that he will spend his remainder. Not at home, not with his family, not something that was even an option to think about just a short time ago. I was never going to do this; I was never going to fail my father who has taught me everything, and has given me everything. But yesterday a bed became available… and we took it.

Now the place is very nice and the people really take care of the emotional aspect of entry very well. They do this for the patient and the family of the patient. It seems that they have seen this before. This is the right thing for him and I know that, and because of that I am willing to “fail” on one of my nevers.

By the way, think of the business that they are in; they have people waiting in line, literally, for an open space for the right to pay them thousands of dollars a month. Not a bad place to be.

What does this have to do with sales?

You salespeople are always looking for the next great sales technique and system. You are promised by “Sales Gurus” to follow a plan and;

Never get turned down again
Never accept a “no” again
Never “Close” again
Never prospect again

Let me clear this up right now; there is no such thing as the best way to sell. Being that every salesperson has a different personality and needs to be true to it, and every customer has a different personality too. You need to be comfortable with the fact that some people just won’t buy your program, style, or system that you are using. Some people just are not buying ‘YOU”.

But, if you believe that it is the best thing for them to use your product, if you really believe that they need what you have, then it is your responsibility to call an audible and not be so ridged in your life and do what it takes to get the job done! A closing line is passé I know but;

Some people need a push, and a gentle “close” might be the trick.

There is no best way to sell, but it turns out that there is a worst way. If you spend too much time looking for the answer of how to “Sell” and lose sight of why they “Buy” you have stopped thinking about what is best for the customer.

Then you have really failed! I think my father taught me that.

If you are like thousands of other entrepreneurs, that want to work from home by having your own business, then you know you need business opportunity leads. Now is a great time to get involved with direct sales or multilevel marketing opportunities because it’s a hot subject right now. More and more people everyday are fed up with being told raise increases have been frozen, or worrying about when the next big layoff is going to be. In general, people are tired of being told “this is all there is”.

Business opportunity leads are the cornerstone that keep your business growing at a steady rate. You don’t just need leads, you need targeted leads. Targeted leads will increase your business at a much higher rate of speed. One of the main reasons people either fail, or don’t join business opportunities is because they think they will be cold calling, stopping people on the streets, or even having to take a chance of being rejected by their own families. Getting told no is not pleasant, so why not get business opportunity leads that are from people interested in what you are offering.

There are many ways to get good qualified leads available to entrepreneurs. Most businesses, online or off, have a website that showcases their products or opportunities. One way to bet good leads is by article marketing. Writing articles and submitting them to article directories will bring traffic that is interested to your website. This method words great, however it does require some work and time.

You can buy business opportunity leads list from quite a few companies, but you also take a chance that they are not current, or the people in the lead have already found something to participate in. Fresh, up-to-date leads are what will take your business to the next level.

Getting leads is always an ongoing project, so finding an easy way to get them will save lots of time. That is time you can spend building your business, or spending time with your family. One reason many people start their own business at home is to have more money, and also to have that extra time to spend with their loved one.

The best way to get business opportunity leads is through lead generation software. Some places offer this service, yet you can also purchase the software and use it over and over again. This type of leads leave more net profit for the business owner. Remember, when searching for leads, to get ones that are targeted, and fresh, so your business will be full of people saying “yes”, instead of “no”.

The 9-5 work structures is not efficient, resulting in an inadequate economy and transitioning is now reoccurring, as with the Industrial revolution, the automation era, and presently the information era just to name a few. Now approaching at mock speed. The final frontier “micro business era”.

New Applications allowing individual to actually have a direct input on the economy. Imagine people individually creating phenomenal careers in the micro businesses era. We always relied on the power brokers, the 5% percent to govern the economy. But the complexity is a little different now, to survive in this new economy us as individuals will direct the economy as mini power brokers, governing our micro enterprises. Economically as a whole we will be a major force in the economy, creative intelligent are a must to be competitive for career creation.

The neuroscience community has taken on this venture creating genius, studies has being done on a small group of enigmatic talents with extraordinary mental abilities. Less than 100 worldwide. Some can work out five-digit multiplication in their heads, or recite thousands of books by heart. Others can play a piano melody after hearing it only once. Others develop these super human talents only after brain injury. These people are the phenomenon savants, called the knowing ones.

Using neuron applications scientists can now see billions of neurons at work in the savant’s brain and unlock the key for sustainable solutions attainable through leadership. Could the giant minds of the past – from Newton, to Mozart, to Albert Einstein have been savants? Canadian psychiatrist Norman Doidge has stated that neuroplasticity is “one of the most extraordinary discoveries of the twentieth century. So revolutionary major companies are using neuro- applications.

For example neuroscientist developed neuron MRI applications to basically reading your thoughts to know what you will buy and FMRI looking at the brain to target and control your own internal pain. It’s true that genes place a leash on our capacities. We construct ourselves through behavior, it’s not who you are, it’s the experiences we encounter; the knowledge we absorb that transforms us to whom we want and will be. What give savants super genius abilities?

they come with the same factory-installed hard drive (the brain) as we, they collect data and information and it’s stored on the hard drive as we, but it seem the data collect is as pure, accurate and unfiltered as a computer. Their data storing system is fully accessible ready as well. The data we collected from the savant studies and the Einstein intelligent theory were used to develop a stimulus neuron learning process. A radical concept using a flexible delivery system to any user in the world.

My staff and I find pleasure helping business people alike cut through the red tape and mental roadblocks. There’s 4 trillion dollars being exchanged daily. The bottom line is your profit is in that exchange . My company designed a program to get it, regardless of the state of the economy. You are entitle to play in this economy to win.
