The number of things we each have to juggle in this modern day can often leave us frazzled and completely overwhelmed. With so much to do and many things going on at once, sometimes working efficiently is an impossible task as you flit from one task to another and back again. Below are a few ideas that will help you remain productive and efficient throughout your day, even with a million and one things to do at once.

Concentrate on just one thing at a time.
With constant interruptions this can be easier said than done, but you should try and just concentrate on one thing until it is completed, and only then move onto the next task. If you are interrupted, make a note of anything you need to and refocus on the task at hand. You can return to the cause of the interruption afterwards. This way, you will surprised at how quickly you get through your daily tasks.

Only check emails twice a day
Email is the worst distraction and can often totally throw you off track as your brain loses focus. This is particularly true if one comes in with slightly bad news or something that is not urgent, but nonetheless needs your attention. Checking them just twice means you can reply to a batch all in one go which will also save you time.

Don’t try to do too much each day.
Writing a daily task list with 7 or 8 tasks can make you feel overwhelmed from the start. When not all are completed it can make you feel unproductive also. Instead, choose just 2 or 3 tasks that you know you can complete despite the various interruptions that you are likely to encounter throughout the course of the day.

Save all your phone calls up.
Instead of returning a phone call as soon as the message finds itself to you, save it up and then at the end of the day, or early the following day, return all the calls you’ve accumulated together. That way you will save yourself time and will be able to continue focusing on the task at hand.

Get up half an hour earlier each day
Just 30 minutes more time in the morning will allow you to plan your day, groom yourself for the day ahead and arrive at your destination on time. Being the first to arrive ensures a calm start to the day. This will make a huge difference to your day and allow you to stay organised and productive throughout.

It can be hard to stay focused during the day, but these handy tips will definitely help you get the most out of each and every day. By removing chaos and allowing yourself time to focus and complete your tasks one at a time, you will feel better, get more done and even stand apart from those around you enabling you to get ahead. Just these few simple changes may be all that you need.

You’ve started the day with a sales rally and the pep talk of your life. All of your agents have come in for the start of an important new campaign. They have reviewed the direct mail piece your provider sent earlier in the week. They’re educated on the products. They’ve never been more ready to sell. Every thing and every person is in place.

And the phones are silent.

It’s a mortgage broker’s nightmare. You invest in direct mail marketing, and the responses don’t come in when you expect they will. Experience tells you that once the letters are mailed, you have no way of predicting when they’ll arrive in mailboxes, much less where they’re stuck at this moment. The success of your campaign is at the mercy of a system that appears to send mail through a time warp with variable results.

Lucky for you, there’s actually nothing so mysterious about the U.S. Postal Service. It works as a well-oiled machine that efficiently delivers billions of pieces of mail each year. The system tracks the location of each piece of mail from the time it is dropped by the sender until it lands in the local mail carrier’s hands on the way to its final destination. Working with a direct mail provider who understands these systems and puts them to work for you can help prepare you for the times the phones actually start ringing. And when you are prepared, you will have the ability to maximize your profits. Continue reading ‘Maximize your Mortgage Direct Mail Results by Increasing Your Postal IQ’ »
